Have you received a postcard from Sun Communities Management regarding how they are performing?
Now is your chance to voice your opinion so don’t hesitate, let Sun
Management know what you like and what you don’t like about the management of Saddle Oak Club.
Please also note the Water Seminar
meeting at our clubhouse. We need to be aware of all the rules and regulations of our community.
Let’s see a good turnout for the coffee Saturdays in May even though a lot of the community has already left for the summer.
Last month we had a great turnout for the annual SOC Yard Sale. Thanks to all residents and non-residents who helped make this a huge success. It’s great to see all the volunteers working together!
Easter Breakfast, the Blood Drive and the Spring Fling were also very successful with great turnouts!
Won’t be long now before a lot of our residents will be heading back North for the summer months.
Have a safe trip where ever you go
and we hope to see you all later this year!
-- Dick Ouimette

Saddle Oak Friends
Many thanks for the gift card and the get-well card signed by so many familiar names. I plan to buy a pretty plant as a remembrance of your thoughtfulness.
Sincerely yours,
Mary Sullivan
Thanks for the Lap Robes
Over many years, I have gathered lap robes during the Christmas season to distribute to nursing homes for their residents who might not get a gift otherwise. Saddle Oak residents have generously knitted, crochet, quilted and/or in other ways gotten lap robes for me for this project. I and the nursing homes who have received lap robes from Saddle Oak residents want to THANK YOU for making this project a success for so many years.
-Fran Fritz
The family of Jim Fritz are very thankful for the many cards, calls and inquiries about his health and his progress from Saddle Oak people over the past months. He has a way to go but he is doing well.

Be informed as to current events.
Saddle Oak Club Home Owners Association needs a volunteer to assume the responsibility of handling the Newsletter’s Classified Advertisements.
We asked for a volunteer last month and didn’t get a response. So we are asking for a volunteer again this month. The classified ads you see at the end of the Newsletter help pay for the printing of the monthly paper. They also help to save our residents money on the services needed to maintain their homes here at SOC. They also provide a ”peace of mind” for our residents that in using the businesses that advertise in our Newsletter we are getting good quality work done for a reasonable price.
Maintaining these advertisements and soliciting new businesses is an important job that needs a reliable volunteer.
Contact a member of the SOCHA Board of Directors if you would like to volunteer!
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
MEETING
Board of Directors meets on Tuesday, May 5th at 2:00PM.
The Saddle Oak Home Owners
Association meeting is Wednesday, May 6th at 7:00PM.
This will be the last Board meeting before the summer break. Be sure to watch the Newsletter or SOC Web Site for dates and times the BOD will resume meetings.

We would like to thank the following for all the help you gave us preparing the food and serving in the kitchen, running orders out side and operating the grill.
Linda Otto, Gladys Ouimette, Jo Gearin, Bonnie Armitage, Sue Whritenour, Marge Putka, Sue Dewacher, Bob Smith, Dorothea Wiley, June Muterbaugh, Ann Sandor, Shelly Westcott and Jim Westcott. All of us put in a good days work and had a great time. Shelly & Jim operated the grill out side selling hot dogs, which was a great hit.
We sold $1,221.80 out of the kitchen and off the grill and without the volunteers we never could have accomplished these sells.
Great job and thanks again to you all.

Spring Fling
By Marj Banczak
The “Spring Fling” held recently on a balmy spring day was attended by an excess of 200 Saddle Oakers. Among attendees were people not often seen at the clubhouse and it was a welcome sight.
Sponsored by Sun Communities and organized by the Board of Directors, the event featured a picnic menu, the pool area colorfully decorated with balloons and garlands.
Our thanks go out to the volunteers who make these events successful. A community gathering gives a feeling of fellowship and camaraderie for those attending. Our special Thank You to Sun Communities who make the event possible.
Saddle Oak Yard Sale
By Marj Banczak
It ran like a well oiled machine! With a “before sunrise” start, the annual yard sale proceeded at Saddle Oak.
Sales tables, both inside and out, were stacked and manned. Golf carts transported shoppers to the sale as cars backed up on hwy 200. Coffee and breakfast was prepared and served to many eager eaters. Even after a couple of hours, still they came; the searchers for a bargain. Breakfast turned to lunch and shoppers returned for a bowl of hot soup and a sandwich.
It was an event of cooperation. The sellers, the buyers, the golf cart transportation, the cooks and the bakers. It was another positive, happy and pleasant event at Saddle Oak.
Besides, it made money! Lots of money!
